“Film,” to quote the Oscar winning editor and sound designer (and one of our personal heroes) Walter Murch, “is the medium of all mediums and instantly hits us in the solar plexus with the image and the sound.” It has the power to inform, entertain, unite and even inflame. And while film today may not be shot on actual celluloid, it remains the single most pervasive and influential communication tool the world has ever known.

There are many companies out there who separate “entertainment” films from “advertising” films, who draw a line of distinction between those films seen in a movie theater and those seen on television during commercial breaks. Once that proverbial fence has been built, people tend to fall on one side or another: I make movies or I make commercials.

Don't get us wrong - there are differences, both in form and execution, between and ad and a feature, but we treat them as two parts of a larger whole. That whole, that thing that connects audiences with a film or a commercial, that emotional bond that can illicit uproarious laughter or create tears of genuine sadness, that essence of film's power is...story.

It is story, in the case of the movie Now Playing in a Theater Near You, that allows us to sympathize with and emotionally invest in the main character. It is story, in the case of the commercial or fundraising video, that causes consumers and donors to open their wallets.

With First Sight Productions, you get two things: storytellers and technicians. We'll tell your story and tell it well. If you're in the market for commercials, training videos, live concerts or even assistance with a short, feature or documentary film, we can turn your goals into reality.

But don't be confined by any boxes. We're not. Do you have even the slightest inkling that your project should be or include film or video? We'll make it happen.
